I’m a self-taught lettering artist. I’ve created hand lettered pieces as signage, for paper and digital products and as part of my art projects. I’ve also developed and taught a series of workshops on brush lettering and hand lettering. As with any image, I’ve found that the quality of a piece of lettering is determined by the basic principles of design— like balance, emphasis and movement. What I love most about lettering is that it combines the structure of graphic design with the freedom of illustration.
